Treatment Model: People who decide to address their issues with food and body image have reached a point where an eating disorder seems to be controlling their life. As the obsession with food and body shape/weight takes up more mental and physical energy, they have difficulty managing other aspects of their life (school, work, relationships). I work with clients to restore balance in their lives. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we work to change thoughts, feelings and behaviors that are keeping them stuck in their eating disorder. Additionally, we use Psychodynamic principles to understand subconscious motivations that may be reinforcing their eating disorder symptoms.
Ms. Scarlata treats Anorexia and Bulimia; males and females, adolescents and adults.
