While attending the program, patients will be seen by a multi-disciplinary team led by the Medical Director, Jeffrey Mar, MD.  Dr. Mar has been treating eating disorders since 2000.  He is Board Certified in Psychiatric and Pediatrics and Board Eligible in Child Psychiatry.  Dr. Mar is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  He is closely involved in the care of each patient and interacts with the patients throughout the week, often seeing the patients on a daily basis.  In addition, each patient will be assigned a primary therapist to provide individual and family sessions and to help the patient with daily and weekly challenges.  Other therapists in the program will assist in alternate therapeutic areas.  The registered dietitian will also meet with the patient for individual and family sessions and assist in education and improvement of nutrition as well as being present at the majority of meals to assist in challenging the eating disorder.

Valenta offers three levels of care to meet the needs of the community: partial hospitalization (PHP); intensive outpatient (IOP) and aftercare treatment for adults and adolescents

Valenta is an integrated program that allows the patient to experience healthy change and reduce the symptoms in mind, body, soul and relationships.

Valenta intensive outpatient (IOP) and aftercare program provides the required transition form in-patient to out-patient.  Post recovery focuses on the patient’s resuming their daily life with fewer days in program.
