Ms. McIntire has treated eating disorders with acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine in both private practice and intensive outpatient program settings. This ancient system of medicine addresses physical complaints such as abdominal pain and/or bloating, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), acid reflux, headaches, and gynecological disorders. It also eases anxiety, depression, irritability, insomnia, compulsiveness, obsessive thoughts and worry. Combining a knowledge of eating disorders with extensive training in acupuncture, herbal medicine, meditation, qi gong (energy cultivation work) and tai chi, Ms. McIntire provides care that strongly enhances Western medical care and traditional counseling. She also has experience treating related issues such as trauma and addiction. In addition to the tools of Chinese medicine, she uses Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) to clear chronic tension and stress from the body. She blends these various methods into an individualized treatment plan which accesses and supports the body's inherent healing mechanisms.
