In addition, every six months I organize and provide retreats for patients in treatment and recovery from eating disorders. I authored the book, "It's Not About the Weight: Attacking Eating Disorders from the Inside Out" which is an educational tool for everyone and anyone who is or has a loved one affected by this life threatening illness.
I follow a five-pronged approach in guiding my clients toward a successful future of inner peace no matter what challenges they may be experiencing. Individuals must identify their need to change; have the desire to change; gain the knowledge and tools required to change; have the belief in their ability to change (self-efficacy); and implement or apply such change. Iprovide the tools and resources to assist my patients to transform their lives by empowering them to soar to their greatest potentials. Every individual I work with is unique; all in their own psychological space at any given moment; and cannot be pushed nor rushed into growth or change. I provide my clients with a refreshing, peaceful, homey, safe and supportive office environment. No matter what their challenges, my clients are always provided with unconditional positive regard and utmost respect. I gladly collaborate with other experts providing a multi-faceted treatment approach for each client as needed.

Treatment Model: I think that one of the reasons I have had so much success treating this population where others have failed, is that I don’t make any assumptions about my patient. I recognize that each person presents with a unique history and with a pattern of behaviors that, though part of a symptom complex, is never exactly the same. Using a family systems perspective is therefore very important. Whenever appropriate I try to involve the family and friends as much as possible. Nine times out of ten, they are desperate to help, but don’t know what to do, which only makes matters worse. Perhaps the most important thing I bring to the therapeutic process is my personal experience with eating disorders, which has given me a more realistic set of expectations about what is really going on and how brave the patient has to be to overcome this heartbreaking disorder. I offer an alternative to inpatient treatment for Anorexic, Bulimic and Bularexic patients.
