I have been treating clients with eating disorders for approximately 20 years and have continued to enjoy my work greatly. I do not believe in "rubber-stamping" people with treatment modalities, nor labeling which doesn't typically help. I tailor treatment to each individual's needs and start with each patient "where they are" in the first meeting. I think its important for clients to know that treatment doesn't mean getting fat. Treatment means improving the quality of their lives to make it worth living by becoming healthy and free of the binding chains of the eating disorder.

925 Luna Circle NW, Albuquerque, NM
Additional Communities Served: University of New Mexico, Central New Mexico Community College
Office: 505-268-0690
Treatment Model: I am a psychotherapist/social worker with over 15 years of professional experience. My therapeutic stance is informed by the writings of Wellesley College’s Stone Center which focuses on the human desire and need to connect to others (“to know and be known”). Overall, I most closely follow an interpersonal and self-psychological psychodynamic approach, but am able to tailor treatment to match the needs of the client. I believe that a trusting, open, dynamic relationship is essential if treatment is to lead to long lasting positive change. In my experience when this type of therapeutic relationship is able to develop, there is a powerful sense of connectedness and growth that is indescribable.

In addition to outpatient therapy, I also offer an Intensive Outpatient Program for eating disorders. For more info, see below or go to my website.
