The goal of the Eating Disorders Program at University Medical Center at Princeton is to promote the physical and emotional recovery of each patient in an atmosphere of acceptance and support. The program's location in a full-service medical center allows for thorough and efficient treatment of any medical complications while simultaneously addressing the psychological issues underlying the eating disorder. The multidisciplinary treatment team is headed by Medical Director Russell Marx, M.D., a board certified psychiatrist. Dr. Marx is a nationally known clinician and author of It's Not Your Fault: Overcoming Anorexia and Bulimia. He is joined by Kenneth Willis, M.D., a board certified psychiatrist who served as the program's first medical director, and Melinda Parisi, Ph.D., a licensed psychologist with extensive expertise in eating disorders and women's issues. Treatment Model: The treatment model at Monmouth Psychological Associates is multidisciplinary and multimodal. Their therapeutic orientation is primarily cognitive behavioral. Patients are evaluated by the clinical director, Dr. Donald Erwin, who has over 25 years experience in the field of eating disorders treatment and research. Our Marlton center offers both Partial Hospital & Intensive Outpatient Programs specially designed for clients with eating disorders. Treatment Model: Ms. Frotton treats the full-spectrum of eating disorders in adolescents and adults. She has been intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT,) and utilizes DBT, mindfulness, intuitive eating and a non-diet approach. Ms. Frotton is also trained in psychodynamic therapy. Taking a compassionate and non-judgmental stance, she recognizes the difficulty of change, and the ambivalence some individuals may have about modifying or relinquishing eating disorder symptoms. Her view of eating disorders is as a self-destructive way of regulating one's emotions. Ms. Frotton helps clients uncover the issues underlying their eating disorder and teaches positive ways to regulate emotions and tolerate distress.

Participants are responsible for bringing their own supplies and encouraged to share their individual strength, hope and experience with other group members in order to create a relaxing, positive and safe recovery environment.
