Treatment Model: Finding out who you are and how you operate in the world leads to better relationships and decisions about your future. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the vehicle to self-discovery and self-discovery leads to recovery. An eating disorder keeps you from yourself. In a safe and nurturing environment, you can have the freedom to explore who you are and to repair what is keeping you stuck. Collaboration with my patients is key to successful treatment which is why I recognize the necessity to respect your space and needs during this process. I use a combination of cognitive behavioral as well as psychodynamic approaches to address the eating disorder, and can provide referrals for dietitians and psychiatrists as needed. Once you have a better sense of self, you will be able to express and assert yourself in a more genuine way as well as have better judgment in terms of relationships and choices that life presents.

julielcsw@yahoo.comTreatment Model: Finding out who you are and how you operate in the world leads to better relationships and decisions about your future.

She helps the person recognize patterns, different types of hunger, and roads to satisfaction. When the client develops skills to cope with their problems, food becomes a normal part of life instead of a source of distraction, numbing, and soothing. During this process, she works with nutritionists, and physicians. Sandra consulted in the Eating Disorder Unit at Highland Park Hospital for years. She has presented treatment strategies to help people such as cognitive restructuring, self-monitoring, stimulus control, stress management and group and social support, at many workshops and meetings.
