Treatment Model: Finding out who you are and how you operate in the world leads to better relationships and decisions about your future. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the vehicle to self-discovery and self-discovery leads to recovery. An eating disorder keeps you from yourself. In a safe and nurturing environment, you can have the freedom to explore who you are and to repair what is keeping you stuck. Collaboration with my patients is key to successful treatment which is why I recognize the necessity to respect your space and needs during this process. I use a combination of cognitive behavioral as well as psychodynamic approaches to address the eating disorder, and can provide referrals for dietitians and psychiatrists as needed. Once you have a better sense of self, you will be able to express and assert yourself in a more genuine way as well as have better judgment in terms of relationships and choices that life presents.

Ms. Blackman treats Anorexia and Bulimia; females, adolescents, and adults. She also works with Compulsive Exercisers, Binge Eating Disorder, Obesity, Compulsive Overeating, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD).
