Through my years of practice, I have achieved a very balanced perspective on how to apply both understanding and compassion to assist with the dietary needs of all of my clients. Whether my professional journey had involved developing diet plans for people who have had Gastric Bypass surgery or empowering patients with disordered eating through Mindfulness strategies - all has been a real pleasure. I truly enjoy seeing others succeed and helping them learn more enjoyable and healthy ways to reach their goals in their personal and professional lives. As a Yoga Instructor I am active in teaching others how to diet in combination with Mindfulness through Yoga. Dieting is not only counting calories, its calling your spirit and physical self to the table to work together towards long lasting health.

Treatment Model: My philosophy of eating disorder treatment is based on the most recent scientific research suggesting that anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa are biologically-based mental illnesses which are triggered by dieting and perpetuated by malnutrition, with emotional stress as an aggravating factor. For adolescents with eating disorders, I use the Maudsley Model of Family-Based Treatment, a highly practical, empirically-supported treatment which enlists the entire family as a resource in supporting the patient’s recovery. For adults, I utilize evidence-based approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy.

Lisa has an absolute drive and compassion in getting clients to the other side of the eating disorder - making food friendly, normal, and not the main event. She does that with giving structured meal plans and rotating risks into that meal plan. This is all under the philosophy that not one food is good or bad. Treatment Model: Dr. Glenn Caddy specializes in the treatment of eating
disorders, and body image disorders, including extreme body dysmorphic disorder.
Just as every patient's condition is unique and of different severity for all
others, I consider every patient to be unique and as such requires a highly
individualized program of care. A major aspect of successful care is achieve
during treatment by engaging in recurrent reassessment to further establish
precisely the dynamics of the patient's mental and emotional dysfunction and to
further explore and learning the "psychic impairments" and "software errors" and
"misperceptions" [if you like the analogies] that create the symptoms in the
first instance. Anxiety, specific rigidity, and obsessive-compulsive
distortions, and much more, must be addressed in the successful management of
these complex conditions. Even obesity can be particularly recalcitrant to
modification and this is far more seriously true when one moves into the
profound anorexic patients. While these conditions typically call for a
multidisciplinary approach [and I bring in other specialists as required], often
they also require a multivariate approach to resolution. One major goal is
always to engage the body as an ally in the therapy process. I am firmly
grounded in the highly sophisticated programs of cognitive-behavioral therapy
but I initially was trained in psychodynamic theory. In the final analysis I use
whatever the patient seems to best require. The fundamental goal of therapy is
to affect change in body/self which leads to a genuine experience of control,
clear body/self boundaries, deep self trust, positive body attitude and
ownership of solution.
Dr. Caddy treats Anorexia and Bulimia; males and females, children, adolescents,
and adults. He also works with Athletes and Compulsive Exercisers, Food
