Treatment Model: My philosophy of psychotherapy recognizes that all individuals need to feel safe and cared for in order to grow, develop, and reflect on what is working in their life and what they would like to change. Through a supportive relationship with another human being a person can reorganize their internal system to become Self-led rather than being led by parts of ones personality that are extreme. These extreme parts of an individual's personality, which have positive intentions for the person, are stuck in jobs which they see as protective. By coming to know, understand, and reparent these parts an individual can release the pain they are holding and feel free to more fully engage in their lives with renewed vigor. All individuals are capable of attaining an increased quality of life through the application of this self- knowledge.
Ms. Malenfant works with people (males/females/children/adults) who are challenged by various forms of food addiction such as anorexia, bulimia, night eating and compulsive overeating, issues of anxiety, a history of trauma, gender identity and assertive communication.
Treating Eating Disorders since the Year: 1995

I use Internal Family Systems therapy to help people learn about the parts of themselves that need to be known, loved, and transformed. It is through unburdening, empathy, and the internal resources of the individual that a person experiences healing for the parts of themselves that have adopted extreme roles. Once these parts are unburdened they are free to use their energy in positive role transformation. I pride myself on creating a safe, peaceful, environment where individuals can relax and be themselves. The respect I have for each individual is reflected in the honor I experience in helping people. In addition to eating disorders, the most common reasons people come to see me are anxiety, trauma, relationship interaction patterns, gender identity and sexual orientation, career changes, dual addictions and depression.

This team of experts designs a comprehensive treatment plan to meet the
individual's medical, nutritional, behavioral, and psychiatric needs. Throughout
