Treatment Model: In my years working with emotional eaters and chronic dieters, I've learned that problems with food, weight, and body-image are really a form of displacement - distraction from feelings like anxiety, disempowerment, being discounted, not being "good enough." These feelings often come from experiences of being controlled, criticized or expected to be "perfect" but never being given the guidance, support, or encouragement needed to develop mastery. I use a combination of Cognitive therapy, Feminist theory, Self-Psychology, Expressive Arts, and Hypnotherapy to help clients identify and heal the underlying wounds that make them distract with food, diets and "bad-body thoughts." As a result, clients are able to let go of the compulsions to eat, diet and obsess about their bodies. Ultimately, this frees them to find their true selves, their true voices, and their true value.

Ms. Levin treats Compulsive Overeating, Food Addiction, Binge Eating Disorder, Bulimia and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). She works with women and men 18 years and older, including athletes and compulsive exercisers.

Treating Eating Disorders Since the Year: 1998

Payment Options: Cash/Check, Credit Cards, Sliding Scale

In addition to traditional therapy, I offer coaching and educational/empowerment groups. I love working with men and I'm happy to work with couples who are affected by emotional/compulsive eating problems or chronic dieting. For details about how I work, please visit my website or call for a free consultation. Please note that as a sole practitioner, I am not available for emergency services and do not work with clients who require more intensive care. While I do not take insurance directly, I am happy to provide a monthly statement which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Many PPOs are willing to pay for out-of-network providers.
