Of those suffering with Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa (including Exercise Bulimia) at least 10% are male. Often under-diagnosed or hidden, eating disorders among males remain untreated. Sports programs often ignore symptoms or see symptoms as part of "training." In general, male sufferers are often more reluctant to seek help. The program for Males is conducted by licensed mental health practitioners who specialize in the unique treatment of Eating Disorders. Both male and female therapists are on staff, and nutritional care, which is conducted by eating disorder nutritionists with additional training in sports nutrition, is also available. Treatment will be offered for males with: Anorexia Nervosa; Bulimia Nervosa; Exercise Bulimia; Binge Eating Disorder; Body Image Issues (Body Dysmorphic Disorder).

Parents and Nutrition Support Group: This nutrition group is now available to give parents the needed time to understand their role with regards to their child’s eating disorder. It can help parents to understand what their child may be feeling when eating a particular food or even looking in the mirror. The group is an ideal place to gain support and learn answers to nutrition related questions and or behaviors.
Mommy To Be Group: For pregnant, nursing and moms of young toddlers. This nutrition group is geared for moms to optimize their feeding relationship with their child from the very beginning of life. It helps new moms overcome personal dietary issues and teach new positive feeding roles from breast-feeding to snacking.
Healthy Habits: This nutrition group utilizes nutrition education and behavior modification to help children and their families, eat and exercise in harmony with their bodies. The group is appropriate for children ages 10 through 14 years. Please see our website for additional information.
Nutrition Support Group: An informal group, just for girls working on maintaining their recovery from anorexia and bulimia. The nutrition support group is an adjunct to therapy for clients needing nutritional support rather than individual medical nutrition therapy. This group is ideal for females, age 18 to 30 years.
Intensive 12-Week Group: CEDaR Associates of Westchester and Rockland Counties, New York: Intensive 12-week group for individuals suffering with eating disorders. Individuals will develop and utilize tools for Goal Achievement. This group program is designed for personal empowerment in the pursuit of goals related to eating disorders. It will address the following types of goals: appreciate your body; continue and enhance your eating disorder recovery; achieve a healthy body image; set realistic goals for yourself regarding your body; food and exercise and improve overall self-care practices. Participants must make a commitment to attend all 12 group sessions and agree to maintain confidentiality of all other group members. This unique group is designed to be an educational experience to promote the cognitive behavioral skills needed to obtain your goals and desires, so the cost for the 12-week group program is $1,200—paid at the first session (insurance will not be accepted). Each attendee will also be required to purchase a workbook, which is an additional $14. Group is open to individuals 15 and older. Maximum of 15 participants will be selected for the group. The group will be held at the Mt. Kisco Center at 67 South Bedford Road on Wednesday evenings, and the Nyack center on Tuesday evenings. The sessions are one hour in length and are from 7:00-8:00pm.
