The Center for Discovery’s eating disorders programs are the first comprehensive residential treatment programs in California to exclusively focus on the treatment of male and female adolescents ages 11-19. Our JCAHO accredited Centers are located in comfortable and spacious homes in Downey, Lakewood, Menlo Park (Bay area) and Whittier, CA.  The individualized and intensive treatment experience, under twenty-four hour supervision, is particularly effective in identifying and addressing the destructive behaviors and underlying emotional issues of the disordered eating. Residential treatment minimizes the institutional nature of traditional psychiatric hospitals, yet offers exceptional outcomes at a fraction of the cost. The average length of stay is 60 to 90 days. The programs at Center for Discovery are designed to promote new, healthy coping skills and an increased capacity for healthy self-regulation. They believe in creating a strong relapse prevention and aftercare plan with the referring professionals.
