Shoreline Center has been providing compassionate, evidenced based treatment
of eating disorders for over 15 years. We offer personalized and creative
programs, which are delivered by highly trained and experienced professionals,
some of which are recovered themselves. We pride ourselves on seeing each and
every person who walks through our door as a unique individual and much more
than their eating disorder. We work with clients to develop new ways of coping
with intense emotions, without resorting to self-destructive behaviors. We
recognize that it is rarely the case that an individual comes in with “just” an
eating disorder. We often see co-occurring depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD,
self-injury and addictions. Our programs are comprehensive and include
interventions for complex situations. Our IOP and PHP programs have been awarded
3-year accreditation by the Commission on Rehabilitation Facilities.

Since 1995, Shoreline Center for Eating Disorder Treatment has successfully been helping individuals achieve recovery from eating and body image problems, including anorexia and bulimia nervosa, and binge eating. They believe that eating disorder symptoms have been useful to a person in some way. This may sound strange, but whether they have helped to disguise unhappy feelings, reduce intense bouts of anxiety or relieve the frustrations of feeling out of control and of the unpredictability of life, the symptoms have worked to disguise inner conflict. They work with individuals to learn what need is being met by the eating disorder and help them to develop new ways of coping, without resorting to self-destructive behaviors. All of their programs include supportive meals, individual and group therapy, including many expressive therapies such as art, yoga, and equine therapy. Additionally, all of their programs are based on APA guidelines and they welcome the opportunity to collaborate with referring therapists.
