I believe that successful treatment of eating disorders requires an individualized and collaborative treatment plan. Ms. Scheibley works primarily from a contemporary psychoanalytic/ psychodynamic perspective, believing that the root of eating disorder symptoms are relational issues and dysfunction that impacts affect regulation. Thus, Ms. Scheibley and her clients explore and work through the underlying causes and triggers of the symptoms, resulting in a potential for the client to live life fully (i.e. stopping the primary eating disorder symptoms is not enough!)
